The Rockland Aquanaut's are proud to announce
that our Speaker for this evening will be Officer Frank, a member of the
N.Y.P.D. SCUBA Team. Officer Frank a native New Yorker, is attached to
the N.Y.P.D. Harbor Unit and performs his duties as one of New York City's
Finest as part of the SCUBA Team. Officer Frank has been on the force for
the past thirteen years and has been a member of the SCUBA Team for the past
five years.
Officer Frank's presentation will contain a high
quality video tape produced by the Learning Channel which highlights
some of the N.Y.P.D. Scuba Team's operations. His current "hands
on" duties are rescue oriented and he spends his part of his time
aboard both the boat and air rescue craft. He will field work related
questions after the video presentation. In
addition he has agreed to display some of his personal gear explaining
"how and why" he rigs it in the fashion he does.
He brings to us tonight not only his
experience as part of the team but his unique perspective as a diving
professional both on and off the job. Diving recreationally since 1988, Frank
has advanced through the PADI system to the Instructor level. A self
confessed Tech Diver (trimix certified) most days off he can be found diving area
charter boats catering to the technical diving community. Officer Frank
is married and lives on Long Island.
Please note that while Officer Frank appears
this evening with the permission of the New York City Police Department, he
appears during his free time and has not been compensated. The insight,
discussion, views and opinions presented by the Officer are
exclusively his own. Due to the sensitive nature of his work and of the
evenings discussion there will be no recording devices of any type permited in
the meeting room, nor should any invited guests be members of the media.
